Piano Lessons in Rochester

Hello, my name is Oscar Bernfield. I have been playing and performing piano across many genres for over ten years. Through practicing, performing, improvising, and experiencing many different teaching styles, I have come to understand the steps it takes to get better and grow as a musician.

In lessons, I make sure to train the fundamentals in ways that practically work, while keeping the student engaged by producing music they enjoy and maybe even thought was out of their reach! At the same time, I serve an important teaching role: that of a steady guide, keeping my students working towards their goals even when it becomes difficult.

Students can expect to improve their understanding of the music they play, which is vital to successful performances, as well as learning technical foundations. I also emphasize learning the tools necessary for playing collaboratively, so that their music can be easily shared with music peers and the whole wide world!
