“I specialize in Beginner Classical Piano, Classical And Contemporary Voice, and Jazz Voice”
About Me
Music has been a lifelong passion of mine, and I love helping students discover their own musical voice. As a vocalist, pianist, and current Bachelor of Music in Performance student at Old Dominion University's F. Ludwig Diehn School of Music, I bring both formal training and real-world musical experience to my lessons. While I have received classical training, much of my growth as a musician has come through self-directed learning, giving me a unique perspective on how to help students build confidence, independence, and lasting musicianship.
I have over 10 years of piano experience and use piano extensively as an accompanying instrument for vocal performance. Currently, I teach piano at The Music Studio of Virginia Beach, where I work with students of all ages and skill levels. My teaching focuses on developing independent learning habits, musical confidence, and long-term growth rather than simply memorizing songs. I have also contributed to lesson planning and curriculum development, including creating a structured voice lesson curriculum designed to support effective, student-centered instruction.
My teaching style is encouraging, adaptable, and goal-oriented. Whether you're a complete beginner taking your first steps into music, a developing musician refining your technique, or a performer looking to stretch beyond your comfort zone, I tailor lessons to meet your individual needs and aspirations. I believe that every student has unique strengths, and my goal is to help you unlock your potential while building a strong technical and artistic foundation.
Students can expect lessons that blend creativity, musicianship, and practical skill-building. Together, we'll work on technique, musical expression, ear training, performance confidence, and developing a deeper understanding of music. Most importantly, I strive to create a positive and motivating environment where students feel supported, challenged, and inspired to grow.
No matter where you are in your musical journey, I'm committed to helping you expand your craft, strengthen your confidence, and reach the next level of musicianship.
