Piano Lessons in Bethany

Dear Student (and Parents),

Hello! My name is Babak Mahbaei, and I am your Piano & Music Educator here in Portland, Oregon.

I have been teaching piano for more than 15 years, including the last 6 years at well-known music schools in Portland. I hold a Bachelor of Music degree from Eastern Mediterranean University (2008–2012) and a Jazz-Guitar Performance Certificate from Komitas State Conservatory (2005–2006). This combination allows me to teach both classical piano and jazz styles with confidence.

In my lessons I work with students from age 5 to adults — complete beginners to advanced players. I specialize in:

• Individual and group piano lessons

• ABRSM exam preparation

• Competition pieces

• Recital planning and performance skills

Before joining Golden Key School of Piano (2021–2023), I taught at Eliason School of Music (2018–2021) and Guitar Center Studios (2018–2019). I have successfully prepared many students for exams, recitals, and competitions, and I love helping each student discover their own musical voice.

I am also a performer — I have given over 50 live piano and guitar performances (YouTube links available upon request). My teaching style is patient, encouraging, and tailored to every student’s goals, whether you want to play for fun, pass an exam, or prepare for competitions.
