Learn Piano with Edgar Rey
“I specialize in Basic Piano Performance”
About Me
Edgar Rey is a pianist and music teacher based in San Francisco with more than 20 years of musical experience. He currently serves as the Music Director at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in North Beach, where he coordinates music for liturgical celebrations, works with cantors and choirs, and performs regularly on piano and organ. In addition to his church work, Edgar teaches piano in an after-school program at Woodland School in Portola Valley, California.
Edgar enjoys teaching students of all ages and backgrounds, from beginners to those who want to deepen their musical knowledge. His approach focuses on building strong musical foundations, including technique, music reading, rhythm, and musical expression, while keeping lessons engaging and enjoyable. He believes that music education should be both structured and creative, helping students develop discipline, confidence, and a lifelong appreciation for music.
Outside of teaching and performing, Edgar enjoys going to the movies, walking around the city, and taking road trips to explore new places.
