Piano Lessons in Gravesend

Hello! My name is Ivan, and I am a New York-based musician and artist. After earning an MA in Music Performance and Education from the Gnesin Academy of Music in Moscow, I moved to New York City in 2015, where I’ve been teaching piano, accordion, music theory, composition, and visual art to students of various skill levels and ages. My teaching experience goes back over 10 years. It encompasses multiple teaching practices and formats, from individual piano lessons to managing group music theory lessons in a classroom setting, from successfully preparing advanced students for the ABRSM piano exams and music competitions to working with students with special needs, from planning and organising student recitals to presenting concert-lectures to a broad audience. As I continue to compose and perform music myself, I try to incorporate my composer-performer experience into my teaching practice as well, favouring patience and an individual approach in communicating with students. I find teaching music and art incredibly inspiring and rewarding. I understand that being a good teacher requires a great deal of flexibility and continuous improvement. So, I am committed to broadening my horizons, enriching my experience and further developing my teaching style!
