Piano Lessons in University of Texas at Austin

Hello! My name is Jin, and I am a passionate pianist and teacher who loves helping students discover the joy of music. I received my Master’s degree in Piano Performance from the New England Conservatory in Boston, and I am currently pursuing my Doctor of Musical Arts (DMA) in Piano Performance at the Butler School of Music.

I am a very energetic, positive, and fun person, and I bring that spirit into my teaching. I believe piano lessons should be engaging, motivating, and enjoyable—not just practice and repetition. My goal is to create a supportive and encouraging environment where students feel confident and excited about learning music.

My teaching focuses on building strong fundamentals such as technique, musicality, and expression while also helping students develop confidence at the piano. I work with students of all ages and levels, from beginners starting their musical journey to more advanced students who want to refine their skills.

In addition to classical piano training, I can also help students learn chords, basic improvisation, and jazz concepts, which can make learning piano more creative and flexible.

I always adapt my lessons to each student’s goals and personality, and I look forward to helping students grow musically while having fun along the way!

As a performer, I have also received top prizes in several major piano competitions, which helped shape my artistic development and performance experience. These opportunities allowed me to refine my musical interpretation and stage presence, and I enjoy sharing those insights with my students. My goal is not only to teach piano skills, but also to inspire students to develop confidence, creativity, and a lifelong love for music.
