Piano Lessons in Crane

I'm a survivor of 30 years of public school music teaching! Not only did I survive, but I STILL believe learning an instrument can be FUN and highly rewarding, especially if you follow some key principles. After all, you don't spend 30 years teaching music without picking up a few tricks! I'm an expert at striking the balance between laughing one moment and getting serious work done the next.

My master's thesis for my music education degree (back in 2006) was on teaching students to play piano using chord symbols, especially for use in church worship. Improvising with chord charts is my specialty, and I excel at teaching all ages. Using this method, I've had students go from absolute beginner to playing in a band in less than a year.

I also play and offer traditional classical piano style lessons (reading full sheet music) for students in the beginner to upper intermediate levels.

As a side note, I'm also a professional violist/violinist and can teach lessons for those instruments (and cello and string bass as well).

I'm open to traveling (within reason, of course), and also offer online lessons. I look forward to getting to know you!
