Piano Lessons in Conway

My name is Ms. Mark and I have been playing the piano for (I can't believe) 30 years. I began teaching piano as a favor for a pastor at a local church and have loved every minute of it. One thing that surprised me was the how well students as young as 5 years old learned and found a passion for playing. My client list consists of beginners ranging in ages between preschool and retirement. I am willing to provide lessons in the student's home or online if that is more preferred.

I am willing to teach anyone who wants to learn, but I do have one rule that I live by in regards to teaching the piano. I will never teach a person how to play just one song. I will teach you theory, technic, and how to read music. With these tools, a student can then learn a multitude of songs. I firmly believe that if you give someone a fish, they eat for a day. If you TEACH someone to fish, they eat for a lifetime.

I tend to structure my lessons more as a music class rather than solely piano lessons. Some music will been given for the student to practice outside of the lessons, a little history thrown in to fully understand the piece we are working on, and some activities off the piano to fully comprehend music as a whole.

My piano history began in elementary school playing for local talent shows, then continued in high school dancing, singing, and accompanying my fellow students on the piano for a spectacular performance, and presently playing the piano as a member of my church's praise and worship team. I am a fan of playing classical music, as well as pop and gospel. I will be interested in learning how to play new genres as I teach more amd more diverse students.

I love music and I love teaching, and I am excited to meet new people who are excited to learn!
