“I specialize in Classical Piano Performance”
About Me
I am a Taiwanese pianist who has actively performed on many occasions around the world. I give solo recitals regularly and performed in music festivals in the U.S., Poland, South Korea, and China, and music teachers association conferences in the U.S. Recently I received honors from competitions including the winner of the University of Illinois 21st Century Piano Commission Competition and the first place winner of the 2025 Krannert Center Debut Artist Competition. In summer 2025, I received full scholarship and attended Aspen Music Festival and School’s piano program. I am currently serving as a graduate teaching assistant teaching piano courses in my school and so far have taught students from 5 to 60+ years old, from beginner to advanced, from classical music to holiday or pop music.
I believe No matter aspects like music theory, musicianship, technique, etc., everyone who aspires to learn music should develop a good foundation first. I work hard to educate beginners with the fundamentals of music theory, which includes teaching them how to read music notation, locate notes on staffs, and play a few scales, arpeggios, and cadences. For me, only if students are proficient with these concepts can they further their musical career. For more advanced students, since learning music is a cognitive and creative training, I work with them to discover their creative ability and cultivate their own musical insights. Additionally, in addition to the more known western classical music, I always encourage students to discover their own preferred genres while choosing repertoire as well as explore more repertoire from the underrepresented composers such as Asian and female composers. Overall, I hope that each student can lay a solid foundation and experiment with their personal tastes while progressively developing their musical abilities. More importantly, I want students to have fun learning music.
I also used to be a student blogger as well to share my campus stories and musical insights. In my free time, I also like baking, cooking, swimming, and drawing.
