Piano Lessons in Watertown

I’m a Berklee College of Music Film Scoring graduate and a pianist/composer based in Boston, and I genuinely love teaching piano because it lets me help people build confidence through something tangible they can hear and feel. My approach is warm, patient, and structured: I focus on solid fundamentals—healthy technique, rhythm, reading, coordination, and musicality—while also keeping lessons enjoyable and personal. I like to meet students where they are, whether they’re complete beginners, returning adults, or younger players who need encouragement and consistency. I often combine repertoire with practical skills like sight-reading, ear training, and basic theory so students understand what they’re playing, not just memorize it. Because of my film-scoring background, I’m also comfortable incorporating contemporary music, film themes, and creative exercises (improvisation, simple composition, harmonization) to keep motivation high. I’m detail-oriented and organized, and I aim to give students clear weekly goals so they feel steady progress and a sense of ownership over their growth.
