Learn Piano with Zachary Seckman
“I specialize in Composing, Music Theory, and Creativity”
About Me
Zachary is the owner and lead instructor at Seckman Music School where he teaches private lessons and group classes for Piano, Guitar, Ukulele, Drums, and more! Aside from running the music school, Zach also composes music for a variety of levels and ensembles, authors methods books for piano and percussion, and creates teaching aids and resources for a variety of instruments under the ZS Music Publishing name. Music Teachers and students all around the world learn music with Zach's music and resources.
Zachary comes from a family of amateur musicians, which is what led him to pursue and earn a Bachelor of Music Education from Kansas State University. Growing up, he was involved in just about everything music in school, including as many ensembles as possible, plays, dramas, and musicals! During his senior year of high school in 2011, Zach started teaching private lessons as a way to start learning to teach before going to college and has been teaching privately ever since.
As a composer, and music content/resource creator, Zach enjoys a relaxed approach to teaching that provides wiggle room for mistakes and learning opportunities for students. This relaxed approached coupled with a pocket of bad dad jokes, many students enjoy Zach's teaching style, often feeling safe and comfortable as they are learning their music.
Zach's mission when it comes to teaching music it to make it as easy and accessible as possible as he's created many programs and resources for kids as young as 3, up to adults learn music in a way that suits them. To him if there's a will, there's a way. If you have a will to learn music, he has a way.
When he is not teaching, Zach loves to travel and explore new places and new cuisines, cooking and trying new foods and dishes, and once in a while playing some good old Super Mario on the Super Nintendo.
