Hello! My name is Marie-France. I have been teaching for over 25 years. Music is my passion, and I always strive to inspire my students to develop a love for the power of music in their lives. I love how one can express their emotions/feelings through their playing, and how learning music/piano can support and enhance their schooling, especially in mathematics and other subjects. Research shows that Music helps develop and strengthen the brain. Learning to read music and play instruments triggers neuroplasticity, strengthening the bridge between the brain's hemispheres. This builds a highly connected neural network that boosts memory, attention, and executive functioning. This neurological workout translates into major academic benefits across multiple subjects. It helps develop cognitive functions such as fine motor skills and hand coordination, concentration, focus, and memory. I have many years of experience with children and adults, from total beginners to intermediate and advanced learners, although I specialize in beginners and intermediate levels. I strive to make my lessons fun and enjoyable while still learning and developing the necessary technique and skills. I mainly teach the classical technique and performance approach.
