Piano Lessons in Bismarck

Hi there! My name is Madilyn Johnson, and I have been teaching piano for nearly seven years. Music has been a huge part of my life, and I am passionate about helping students discover the joy of learning and playing piano.

In addition to teaching, I am a high school choir accompanist and a competitive pianist. These experiences allow me to continually grow as a musician and bring fresh knowledge and enthusiasm into my lessons.

My teaching philosophy is simple: learning music should be enjoyable, not stressful. I want my students to look forward to practicing and to develop a genuine love for their instrument. My goal is for the piano to become a trusted friend rather than just another activity on a busy schedule.

I also believe that every student learns differently. If a concept isn’t clicking right away, we’ll approach it from a new angle, take a break from it, or find a method that works best for your learning style. I strive to create a positive, encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes as they grow.

As a teacher, I want to be more than just someone who gives assignments each week. I want to build meaningful relationships with my students, support their goals, celebrate their successes, and help them gain confidence both in music and in themselves.
