Frequently Asked Questions

Who can join CanKnowPiano?

Any piano teacher can create a profile. Whether you're a conservatory graduate, a working musician who teaches on the side, or an experienced educator, we welcome teachers from all backgrounds who are passionate about piano instruction.

How do I get paid?

You collect payment directly from your students for all lessons after the first one. The introductory lesson fee is processed through our platform via our payment provider when students book with you.

How quickly can I start receiving inquiries?

Once your profile is complete, you'll start appearing in local search results. The timing of your first inquiry depends on student demand in your area, but many teachers with complete gold tier profiles receive their first inquiry within the first few weeks.

Can I set my own rates and availability?

Yes, you have complete control over your pricing, lesson formats (in-person, online, or both), and teaching schedule. You decide which days and times you're available to teach.

What happens if a student doesn't continue after the first lesson?

There's no obligation for students to continue, just as there would be with any introductory lesson. Our platform helps you connect with students who are genuinely interested in learning piano, but whether they continue is up to them and the fit with your teaching style. The more students you meet, the more committed students you'll build relationships with long term.
